Meet the Maker
My name is Morgan, and I am behind the small business start-up that is Sugar Mamas Honey. I realized I have yet to post a photo of my face to this Instagram, so here I am, in my kitchen, blocking up some chunks of honey, fulfilling an order for my favorite local dinner hosts @shedproject. This photo captures a truly happy me. A me that blinks every time.
I have been learning about and practicing beekeeping for about four years now, and it is one of my greatest passions. There is always something new to learn, and that is a humbling trial-and-error experience that consistently reveals how much more there is out there to learn.
Raw honey in its unadulterated comb form is my favorite thing in the whole world. This frame was particularly delicious. I like to try out the various frames from one super and see how the taste varies within one box!
This hive pollinated orchards in Velarde, New Mexico, along the Rio Grande, then pollinated across Taos County in Cañon and Downtown Taos. I spent many mornings sitting with them while drinking my coffee and talking to them. They have been such kind and gentle loves. What an adventure to see them grow throughout the year, and see my own process of growth alongside them.
Thank you @JoanneHawker for creating many things, among them the MarchMeettheMaker challenge.
